Invalid CSS in default theme ?

(1/2) > >>

NBK*Twitch:
I just noticed this earlier today.. When I run the default theme index.css through the validator it has three errors.

I have a picture attached below to show it. Now here is my question, why is this? I know in order to submit a theme and get it accepted you have to have valid html? Which I think is a good idea. However why is this not true for CSS and why does the default theme have invalid CSS. Making the in question code valid is not hard at all.

Gary:
CSS validity is generally ignored for approvals.

The main reason for that is because of browser compatibility and some folks like to use CSS3.

That I can understand, I just don't understand why the default theme has invalid css. It is only 3 errors which are easily fixed.

Arantor:
So what are these easily fixed errors? How do you know they're not done for browser compatibility? (SMF 2.0 is compatible even with IE6, remember)

I have the errors attached in the first post. I am pretty sure these are not done for IE6 since the fixes for IE6 has its own css.

I am not trying to cause trouble, I am simply wondering why these are not fixed since the fix is pretty simple.
