What to say to people who make bad edits to the wiki

So when you spot a ridiculous edit, which MIGHT BE someone learning how to use the wiki, or MIGHT BE someone fooling around, or MIGHT EVEN be a spammer (sometimes it is hard to tell), you can "undo" the edit, and send them a nice, polite PM.  And see what happens next.  I don't really expect any response from that kind of PM.
