Grant user to certain boards only if they have X posts in the past Y days?

(1/1)

bikey77:
Is there a way to count the overall posting activity in all boards and not allow users to post to certain boards if they aren't active in other boards, too? I'd like to be able to grant access to certain sections only if they have X posts in the past Y days.

This is the case: On all of my SMF forums (4) I have a minimum post limit (50) for certain boards such as the classifieds board and very often I have new members that troll the forum in order to reach the post limit to gain access to the Buy And Sell board. They are legit but in some cases they take no interest in the rest of the boards, all they do is post in the Buy & Sell area.

Kindred:
no....   you can base access on total posts, but not posts in a period.

Arantor:
And if you were to base it off posts in a period it would be a fair bit slower than it currently is.

bikey77:
Can you think of any other way to acheive the above? I'm sure its quite often that users flood forums with low-quality posts in order to gain access to certain boards that have post count limits.

PS: the image verification below the message box is almost unreadable!

Arantor:
There is no efficient way of doing it automatically - what you could do is purge low quality posts, or have some boards that don't count posts and direct low quality posts there.
