Both forums were duplicated because the database connection variables in ./Settings.php for both forums were set to establish connection with 1 database. This is possible when both installations are on the same server (connected to the same MySQL server). In RealInfo's case, If both domains are connected to the same Hosting Servers, it will be viable. You can check the name servers to confirm. :)

--- End quote ---

There's a script to take care of this: Repair_settings.php (What is repair_settings.php?)
Use that to update the paths, the recommended values below each field work in most cases.

Note: You can actually have both forums updated simultaneously if your host allows remote database connection but the forum connecting remotely may have slow downs depending on the connection strength.

Note that if you have 2 copies of the forum on different domains you are actually losing PageRank because whatever benefit of 'link juice' is being split between them.

Uhura!:
Can't you point one url to the other using your cPanel?

That's how I have OurMomSpot.net, OurMomSpot.com, & OurMomSpot.org set up. :)

Possibly - depends if the user actually has cPanel available, or Plesk or something else (I have neither of those, for example, on my main server)

Uhura!:
Your host could do it for you, yes?
