Intergation with my owner membersytem

Dear readers,

I just had an question. I was doing some re-search if there is a possibility to merge my current member system (is in development) with the SMF. But I have been scratching my head if it might would take a-lot of time to merge the system, since I aren't very familiar with the development of the Simple Machine Forums.

Do you guys have any recommendation, what could be a possibility or where I should look at it?

Question: why run two separate systems together for managing members? SMF is more than capable of handling logins for wider sites, and comes with its SSI.php file which you can use to determine logged-in status and stuff like that.

You can, if you *really* want to, make SMF accept login from a separate system, but that's not really recommended, generally because SMF's login system is mature and hardened against miscreants, and most home-grown solutions tend not to be so much.

What are you really hoping to achieve at this point?

It's possible, but not a great idea.  Instead you should do what Arantor was talking about: use SMFs login system.
Using it is alot easier than creating your own then integrating it.  If you need custom features then you can easily extend SMFs and not have to worry about the integration causing issues.
