How are mods picked up to this table with "Most Popular Mods"? It's based on what?

I'm asking, because somehow my small mod, well.. actually it's BBCode (Progress Bar BBCode => http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3436 ) is there at 4 place :o

Congratulations!  I'll wait for someone more experienced with these things to let us know what time-period your popularity is measured in -- days? weeks?

Experts have found, displayed, and discussed the code involved.

To my eye, it looks like this:
For each mod that has been updated in the last 365 days, count how many times it has been downloaded in the past week.
Then they are ranked by how often they have been downloaded in the past 7 days.

Congratulations again on having creating such a popular mod.

Average download count in past 7 days?

I believe that is the average number of downloads per day for the past 7 days.
