install help - conversion but not?

I had a yabb forum but i just recently changed my server. Right now my database is empty but i do have an sql file of my yabb forum data. I don't have yabb installed on the new server (there's nothing there right now) but i'm thinking of installing SMF when i start getting stuff back up there. Problem is, how do i transfer my data over to SMF? Do i need to install Yabb first and then convert to SMF or is there a more straight forward way?

Install SMF, and then delete the tables.  Use phpMyAdmin to restore the database from the .sql file, and then run the upgrade.php in the upgrade/update package.

Just make sure the prefixes are the same.

for the most part, everything is as it should be, except, i get this error on top of the page whenever i enter a board:

and then it says "No messages..." where the messages are supposed to be. I also get this error when i try to go straight to a post:

Hmm... you've got some issues with settings that didn't get converted. (from YaBB SE.)  I recommend you go through the settings in "Edit Features and Options"...

I've played around with all the settings and still get the errors.

The database was from yabb 1.5.4 i think. Could that be the reason for the errors?
