Diamond Isle:
I am attempting to upgrade one of my other forums and have a problem
I have transfered all the Upgrade files to my server
Have pointed my browser to my normal URL substituting "Index.php" for "upgrade.php"
on the next screen it is showing this when i click Help

/home/username/public_html/Forum/Settings_bak.php        For security i have not shown my correct username
now when i go to my server i do not see those files mentioned to be able to make them writable.
Any ideas ?

Also, at the bottom of the screen is this

Admin Login:
For security purposes please login with your admin account to proceed with the upgrade.
Username:
Password:

What do i put in there, is it my Admin log in details for my Forum ?

Regards
Diamond Isle   :)

K@:
Your admin account login, yes. "For security purposes please login with your admin account"

"on the next screen it is showing this when i click Help

/home/username/public_html/Forum/Settings_bak.php        For security i have not shown my correct username"

Er... why are you clicking "Help", out of curiosity?

I was clicking help as it would not advance to the next screen no matter what i tried
it seems as though the Settings_bak.php file was missing.

I have tried to restore my forum back to the 1.1.16 version by restoring the database and get the following message

Unknown column 'a.attachment_type' in 'field list'

Any ideas what i do next, is everything lost ?

K@:
Depends. If you were a good administrator, you backed-up... ;)

Copy Settings.php to your hard disk, rename it to Settings_bak.php and try the upgrade, again.

It shouldn't look for that file, really, coz not everyone has it.

Weird.

sigh...why when people see an error they immediately think everything is lost?...
Nothing is lost. You have restored your old database but you kept the 2.0 files, so if you want to move to 2.0 rung upgrade.php, if you want to come back to 1.1 overwrite the files with a backup or with the files from a 1.1.16 large upgrade package.
