this is what we did :) after Arantor's suggestion i went digging and found the prefix mod, anyone know if there is a way to make it mandatory to pick one?

That wasn't quite what I was thinking of, but that would certainly work. Though I'd go to the link you suggested, click on 'support and comments for this mod' and ask the author there...
