How to Choose Topics for Hot Forum Links

(1/4) > >>

Hey everyone. I just converted from phpBB3 to SMF 1.1.16 and hope I will be grateful at the end that I did. I installed the Hot Forum Links modification but I don't know where or how the hot links can be selected. The Hot forum links shows up on my index page but I don't know how to add topics.

I will be happy if my first post on this forum is treated favourably. Thanks

First off, congratulations on converting to SMF, not specifically to SMF per se, but from converting from one forum platform to another. I'm sure that wasn't easy (or maybe it was). :)

Secondly, it would be rather difficult to treat this first topic of yours with any kind of negativity.

Lastly, your question is indeed a good one, and one that should be asked in the support topic for the mod. When looking at the topic on your site, do you see a way to make it hot? The screenshots provided on the mod's page don't really show how to invoke the hotness.

The last screenshot shows it. Moderation buttons at bottom left.

Thanks to you both for your help, but I can't find the button "Add as Hot Link" where it is supposed to be. The last icon there is "merge topics". Do you think the problem has got to do with permissions?

Are you the admin on the forum? Are you using the default theme? If not, does the theme you are using have its own Display.template.php or MessageIndex.template.php?

Sorry I missed seeing it on the last image there. :)
