SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 public database problem
AlenNS:
Hello,
I'm using SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 public on my forum and last two days I'm getting this error.
--- Quote ---There has been a problem with the database!
This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the database, contact your host if this continues.
--- End quote ---
My host told me that it could be because of to many visitors at once and beta version of SMF.
Does anyone know is it true?

It is a possible problem. The other problem could be that your host mysql server isn't that great. Your host could be placing the blame on our software because their servers are not the greatest. Who is your host?

Server load was high, but now it's better.
They imroved performance on our server.

Most likely it was a problem on their end. To my knowledge there are no bugs in the beta that would cause high load DB issues
NickC:
My forum has been running SMF 2 on the same server as I previously had SMF 1 for a few months with no increase in database errors. I used to get them a lot before I moved to a more reliable hosting provider.
