Problem with "http" vs "https" when posting links
(1/1)
Kimmie:
Hi :)
Whenever I post a link that has the "s" on the end of the "http". it always puts the URL tags around it. Is there a way I can fix this? I am getting sick of fixing peoples posts :/
K@:
If you're using code tags, it'll show exactly what you type, between the tags.
That's what it's designed to do.
Maybe you could use word-censoring to replace
"[code][url]" with "[code]"
and to replace "[/url][/code]" with "[/code]"
???
mrintech:
AFAIK Every forum software puts URL tags when you paste/write Hyperlinks in the WYSIWYG Editor.

Great trick :)

You need to disable 'Automatically link posted URLs' this can be done by un-ticking the option by going to 'Administration Center » Posts and Topics » Bulletin Board Code' page. The only issue here is that the posted urls will show up as text once this has been disabled so you'll need to get your users into the habit of putting the URL bbcode tags around the url.

It only does it when there is more than one link posted within the same code tags. If you only post one, it does not do it. And it does not do it at all if there is no "s" on the end if the http part
