Thanks, I went through all the portals I could find in the modifications.  Once I knew what the term was I knew what to look for. Interesting but most of the developers don't have links to forums actually using their portal which makes it kind of hard for those who want to use them if they can't see them being used in a real forum.  I would think that would be beneficial to the developers just as web designers have portfolios on display.

Being able to see it being used and how it's worked goes a long way towards making a decision on what to use.

I use simpleportal. All portals work about the same. Just need to be creative. See my signature.

Thanks Mick but your forum isn't actually in use is it? I can see you've played with the header but couldn't really see much else.  But thanks for letting me know.  I had really hoped to see an existing active forum in operation with the portal in use.  I'm beginning to wonder if many people actually using active forums hang around here?  Perhaps they just come and get what they want and go again and I'm probably just as guilty but was hoping someone would have something that was active.

If you just need to see an active forum using a portal, look at mine in my signature.  I have the number of visible blocks limited for guests, and quite a few more become visible to logged in members.
