Behaviour seems normal to me with FF12. CSS looks ok.

I'm assuming the cause is that after a while, Firefox flushes the image out of memory (143KB JPEG betrays a surprising amount of memory use) for performance.

And thats the reason I asked for image size because I have notices if you switches to another tab for a long and when returning back, images takes a while to display as if they were removed and its desired behaviour to reduce RAM footprint of browsers.
