Title: iPhone/Android/Blackberry app to browse your forum - Tapatalk
Post by: Tapatalk on May 04, 2010, 11:09:40 AM
Dear SMF Tapatalk Users,

The SMF Customization team has observed the lack of support and communication from Tapatalk. In order to prevent further confusion, we have decided to remove the modification from the SMF Customization site. We encourage the Tapatalk team to contact us to restore the modification if they wish to provide future updates and provide necessary support. Thank you for your understanding.

i hope someone here can help me...

i installed tapatalk 0.9.10 and it's working well for me with the following issue (i posted this on their forums also)...

when someone makes a post, their post count updates, the total posts in the forum updates, but the posts per day do not update (on the stats page) in forum history.  could someone point me in the direction of the code that is supposed to update that stat, and possibly how to fix it?  i know this is an outside package but there are some very smart people in here.  thanks!

It only modifies two php source files  LOAD & SUBS

I have one of my sites already showing up in their directory along with a nice looking button.  ;)

One of the feedback items I have gotten from members (many have bought the full version) is that links in posts do not work. Is this a software issue with the iphone as only one app car run at a time or is this something that will be added at a later issue, or did the install not function fully.

thanks

Your best bet in getting an answer is registering for their forum (separate from the registration for the code) and reading some of the posts or submitting a ticket.

Thanks for bringing it up the MOD is now in sync with the latest version.

It is getting more stable now and hopefully will become 1.0 version real soon.

thanks again for the mod it is great.

Do you have the free version of the App or the paid version?  The free version of the App does not allow you to post/reply/send PMs, but the paid version does from what I've seen.  This may only be with the Iphone version though, but it could be why you get the error.  Also, create a forum account at their site.  They are very quick and friendly at answering support questions there.

Well, I installed it but now my signatures are gone.  It's like the package changed how the forum deals with std. html code.  I am on SMF 1.1.11 and used the lastest package right from Tapatalk.  My forum seems a tad slower too.  I'm about to uninstall this.

- P.S.  I tried two versions:  mobiquo_sm20_0_9_12.zip  and mobiquo_sm20_0_9_13.zip   Both of these messed up how my forum handles html coding.  Here's what I mean below.  This is a screenshot of a post I made about it.  It also messed up the signatures on my site too.

Hmmm, that's strange.  I have a highly modded site (67 mods installed) on RC3 and have had no slowness or changes to the forum as you are experiencing.  Did you make sure the mobiquo folder and all of the contents were made to permission 755?  I don't know if that will help at all, but I did make certain mine was after installation.

Yep - I made sure all were 755.  I'm also using the Simple Portal package on my forum.  Like I said above, I tried two different installs and both messed up the html code in posts, signatures, etc.  Any other ideas?

Does it matter if you're running a custom theme?

www.jkcrawlers.com is my site.

I put in exactly "http://www.jkcrawlers.com" for the site with no php

Set all files to 755 under the mobiquo folder.

still get the error 1?

Are you considering adding the function to the package in the future?

I would like to know this.  The cost associated with this, does it go on the administrator to add it to the site, or is it per user to get it on their phone?  I'm kind of confused.

The package and the usage of the services are free. For your phone, you get to choose between a free or paid application. So, the user decides whether he pays or not. Although the free app seems to have it's limitations, (I've heard).

When will this have support for RC4? I am waiting until my main modifications (the important ones) have RC4 support before I upgrade. This is holding me back.

I will also post this on the Tapatalk website.

Does it recognize the person who is connected from phone and switch the theme automatically?
Even changing the theme option is disabled?

But everybody else who uses computer will still have the regular theme up?

1.1.12

Tapatalk package installed fine for me too, files/folders there, won't verify though: Not Installed: Server Error(1)

Chmod 7xx is kinda useless on Windows 2008 Web edition.  ::)

SMF 1.1.11, php 5.2.10, MySQL 5.x

Maybe Tapatalk support can post a solution here, saving me from registering on yet another forum  :-\

ok. Here is my feedback about this mod. Its gonna be a little hardcore but honest feedback.

1- The link provided on description http://tapatalk.com/en/plugin wont work.
2- I have a mytouch android and it didint make any changes to my forum view. even after changing the chmods.
3- I thought it would recognize the person connecting from cellphone and switch the mobile mode instantly but nothing like that is there.
4- I feel like this mod is made to advertise tapatalk app. because its so hard to find info about the free version but the info about paid version is everywhere.
5- I couldnt get it work. I couldnt understand the explanations. I couldnt even get answers to my questions before hand.
6- First thing it asks you when you go to your forum after installing this mod is that if you wanna buy the tapatalk or not.
So as a result i would not recommend this mod to anybody.
It doesnt fit-in what SMF stands for. FREE

ok. Here is my feedback about this mod. Its gonna be a little hardcore but honest feedback.

I've been using Tapatalk on my Motorola Droid for some time with my SMF forum.  From the feedback that you provided, it sounds to me like you aren't using the app correctly.  Your answers on #2 and #3 lead me to think that you are looking at the site in the mobile browser and not through the actual app.  It will not switch to the Tapatalk app automatically, like a theme change.  I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but you do know that its a separate app that needs to be installed and that you do not run it from the mobile's browser, right?

The mod installation doesn't do much to SMF, nothing that you are going to see unless you use the Tapatalk app.  When you bring up the app, you won't see anything resembling your SMF site.  You should see screens like these:

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi113.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fn211%2Fbooch_21%2FDroid%2520Screen%2520Caps%2FCAP201009141101.jpg&hash=757a0f822d2a3575e492dbeb805ef41f0de73d38)
The app icon is in the second row from the bottom, third one from the left.  That launches Tapatalk.

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi113.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fn211%2Fbooch_21%2FTapatalk1.png&hash=7567a1b1070bf21a71901866a2002b6ae22df2e8)  (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi113.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fn211%2Fbooch_21%2FTapatalk2.png&hash=692c099faec5359575cb431bd1adc5022ed2f91a)

As for the price, there is no price for installing the mod to your site.  The end user is the one who will be paying the price for the app , if they choose to use it.  I'll be happy to help if you wish to take another look at the mod and app.  It really can be useful.

My members on my RC3 forum have liked the addition of the App.  I haven't upgraded to RC4 because I'm waiting for some mods that I use to get updated first.

But, I updated this last night to another test forum that is running RC4.  I used the package that they have on their site because I learned in the past that the mod gets updated and released there first.  I had no problem installing the mod and publishing it on their site.  There are easy step by step instructions there that make it pretty much fool-proof.

Also, I don't like having to register at every single place for something I'm going to use one time, but I think of it as the cost of something that is free.  If I can't register and take a little bit of effort out of my own day for something that I'm not getting charged for... well, I won't pass judgment on that behavior.  It's nothing to do in return for getting something as useful as the App.  (Also, I've found that when I had questions in the past, they were answered just as quick, if not quicker, than on the SMF site for support, so it was worth the time to register.)

As far as price goes, Apps are freaking cheap.  It's less than a coffee/mocha/cappuccino. As far as the comment about it not fitting in with the Free-ness of SMF, you still use  hosting, your domain name, your computer, your electricity to run the computer, etc etc etc and it didn't keep you from using SMF.

I started using this plugin but I'm a little concerned for security. It is yet another door opened to your site & SMF. Mine is not an educated concern of course since I know very little about security. Is there anyone out there more qualified than I am (which is probably all of you) who can comment on this? Thank you.

One of my Tapatalk users posted this:

Quote
I am having issues with sessions I think.  If I come to the site and virtue new posts button, I get nothing.  This is when in fact there are many new posts.  If toto log put I get an error about sessions.  I will get the exact error message next time.

Another problem, and I suspect it's related is that the tapatalk doesn't show up to date information.  Today I am here on Tapatalk and its showing yesterdays information.  I can see new posts in the new posts section, but when I go onto the thread its displayed only to the point it was at yesterday afternoon when I visited via tapatalk.  For example, in the Rounds death penalty thread,  it shows in the post listing that Drudger made a post at like 10 something this morning, but when I go into it, my post "well its true" is the last one visible to me on Tapatalk.  I even replied and I can't see my reply either.

Posted with my Alltel Hero using Android Tapatalk

Any thoughts about this?

I'm getting an "You have an error in your SQL syntax" error which refers to this code in Subs-Post.php :

// Insert the post.
db_query("
INSERT INTO {$db_prefix}messages
(ID_BOARD, ID_TOPIC, ID_MEMBER, subject, body, posterName, posterEmail, posterTime,
posterIP, smileysEnabled, modifiedName, icon)
VALUES ($topicOptions[board], $topicOptions[id], $posterOptions[id], SUBSTRING('$msgOptions[subject]', 1, 255), SUBSTRING('$msgOptions[body]', 1, 65534), SUBSTRING('$posterOptions[name]', 1, 255), SUBSTRING('$posterOptions[email]', 1, 255), " . time() . ",
SUBSTRING('$posterOptions[ip]', 1, 255), " . ($msgOptions['smileys_enabled'] ? '1' : '0') . ", '', SUBSTRING('$msgOptions[icon]', 1, 16))", __FILE__, __LINE__);
$msgOptions['id'] = db_insert_id();

I'm assuming that apostrophes in the subject are causing this?

Hi all

I'm using Tapatalk Version Tapatalk_SMF1_1_0_3 on my 1.1.11 SMF site.
Board based access works fine but I get an error when sending PMs - "maximum number of recipients"
I've tried loading mobiquo_sm20_1_1_0 but then I cant access some of my boards using a Tapatalk device.
I assume that Tapatalk_SMF1_1_0_3 from this forum is the correct version to use on SMF 1.1.11

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, no response from the Tapatalk team.

I've added

$subject = addslashes($subject);

Before :

// Get the parameters ready
$msgOptions = array(
'id' => 0,
'subject' => $subject,
'body' => $body,
'icon' => isset($id_attach) ? 'clip' : 'xx',
'smileys_enabled' => true,
'attachments' => isset($id_attach) ? array($id_attach, $id_thumb) : null,
'approved' => $can_post == 2 ? false : true,
);

And that seems to fix my problem regarding apostrophes in the subject. Hopefully the Tapatalk team can respond to this??

Nope, sadly not.

I'm running SMF 1.1.15 which works fine with this master-master configuration with no changes, but for some reason when posting or marking topics read with Tapatalk, the database is only modified on the server that the Taptalk user is connected to, ie it won't replicate.

I've had a quick look through the Tapatalk scripts, and can't see what would be causing this issue :( Does anyone have any any ideas?

I'm in the cpanel and under Mobiquo there are several files

Config
Forum_icons
Database-1.1.php
Database-2.0.php
index.html
Mobiquo-Functions.php
Mobiquo-Templates.php
mobiquo.php
Subs-Mobiquo.php
tapatalkdetect.js

I've had a look in each and cannot see anything that resembles the sections that need altering.
Tips?

None of the parse items correspond with the files in the directory which doesn't help.

I have downloaded and reinstalled it several time and have used downloads from different sites from both the Tapatalk site and the SMF site and cannot post on it from my andriod also I can find no controls for it in the admin section so I have no idea how to make it work, It will read and log me in but says I do not have permission to PM and if I try and post I nothing happens till I give up and discard the post. I can use my phone on other sites but not my own. I now have 2 log ins on the Tapatalk forum and neither one will let me post or respond so that is a waste of time to register twice and not be allowed in to get help. I sent a email to admin@tapatalk and was told to use the forum for support when I said in the email I could not post on the forum very annoying so far.

OK annoyingly tapatalk is just not working on my forum 1.1.15 and unfortunately they got rid of their free version so I don't feel comfortable trying to support this and 'forcing' my ppl to pay money for it!! I feel bad that some ppl purchased it too :(

Anyone have any alternative?? I never realized how many ppl check the forum from their phones!!

Anyone know how to get rid of that annoying pop up, prompting people to by buy Tapatalk on every single page view.... ? whilst browsing on their mobile.

Tried their site, but don't get a activation email, so can't post the question there, even though I appear to be logged in.  ::)

James, did you ever get activated on their forum?  I'm having the same issue, I'm signed in, but can't post, my account hasn't been activated and I didn't get a activation email. so I don't have permission to post.    Used their contact us link a couple of times, but still nothing has happened.

I'm tempted just to rip the mod out of my forum now TBH.

I have SMF 1.1.8 and plan to download the package for Tapatalk (SMF 1.1.11 or greater) and install it. Has anyone done this? Any issues? If yes what should I be careful of? It appears the steps are reversible.

Do I need to upgrade my SMF to a a later one. If so what would you suggest?

No index.php in URL

Running SMF 2 R3

Tapatalk SMF 2.0 RC3 Plugin     1.0.2

Do you have to set anything on the SMF side?

The latest version of the mod should be available on the tapatalk website.

As for adding tapatalk to the phone that is done through itunes or android depending on the phone used.

Emulating SMF 2.0.1 works with the 2.0.1 package.

You need the Tapatalk app for Android or iOS depending on your device.

Well after months of scratching my head and walking away and then coming back, I've sussed how to change the permissions. They're all changed to 0755 now, but still the tapatalk site wont verify

I get the
Current Status: Not Published
Verify Installation Status
Not Installed: Cannot detect http://www.antrap.org/mobiquo/mobiquo.php. Check this file existence and try again.

Is there anything else that I'm supposed to do??

I'm on SMF 1.1.15 and downloaded the tapatalk plugin as directed, followed all instructions and it still won't work!
Any clues?

Hi all of you

I have already installed it in my Forum, but, I had to unistall it because Android users (maybe iPhone users or others)  have access to private forums after they closed its session and they could navigate through private forums without being logged.

Are there some tips to prevent that issue?

I have  SMF 2.0 RC3

I'm hoping someone else may have encountered this and knows of a quick fix. I have this up and running on my 1.1.x forum and everything is fine except for one thing(that I know of at this point anyway). When I post from my phone I get a duplicate "Re:" for replies. So instead of the normal "Re: this thing works" I get "Re: Re: this thing works". Looking at the Tapatalk forum they say it will be fixed in the next update but if it's something that's fairly easy to edit I'd prefer to just take care of it now.

Also, I didn't get the mod from here. I got it directly from the Tapatalk site as I wasn't aware of it until yesterday. I have the most recent version(I downloaded and installed it yesterday) and have also double checked every edit via the parser and everything checks out fine as far as code edits are concerned. It's just the double "re:" that's the issue.

Hello, I now have the following problem. I did everything as it is written. I found my forum in the list. If I want to log into my SMF forum, always get the error message that I should address myself to the admin. I'm not in it then, but for example Board then see which one can only see when you log in as admin.
Where is the error here now?

I didn't say it was *good*, I merely said it was mobile ready.

But if you have a bunch of forums that use it, you pay once for all of them.

And on iPhone at least you can do one thing with it that you can't do with a mobile theme: upload photos.

Best thing about tapatalk is you can be have push notifications about everything. And its lightweight. All the images it shows already included the  app and its only shows text of your forum. Only that.
I really like tapatalk a lot. I have 6 forums in it. xda, androidcentral my sites etc.

I don't understand why you not use a "Mobile ready" front end  ;)

As far as I can see there aren't any mobile ready front ends for SMF available at this time.  The only one I found (besides this, which seems to be working just fine on my forum with Tapatalk) hasn't been updated in awhile and no one seems to be interested in making it up to date again.  The only thing I feel bad about is that there aren't any free or "lite" clients for Tapatalk on iOS like there are for Android.  That being said there's a sale going on right now and anyone who cares can get a copy of the app for relatively cheaply.  I have no regrets myself in paying for the Android version of the app.

On the other hand, if there is something that works and you know of it, please do share it, I am definitely wanting to be as inclusive as possible--but at this time Tapatalk seems to be the best option available.

There is also the mobile theme at smf-media.com.

The one thing I would note is that on iOS, Safari Mobile does not offer the upload facilities for photos etc. on the device, which is the only reason I bought Tapatalk myself...

Did you try looking at smf-media.com's paid theme?

The site is to be a home page\community for a non-for-profit religious organization which cares for unwed mothers so I am currently doing everything I can to keep costs low.  Once we're up and running I hope to revisit the mods and themes in use and see whether or not it would be worth buying or upgrading to the "pro" versions.  First I need to get everything I can configured and show that we're going to be able to use everything the way they need, then I can think about stuff like that.

Which doesn't change the point--(as an already paying user) Tapatalk is effectively free to use for me and has free\lite versions available on Android.  There doesn't seem to be anything else available like that at this time.  I know that there was an iOS theme but it is not up to date and does not seem to work in the current version.

I'm using this mod on my forum http://forum.arsenie.net I don't know because I'm not an owner of any smartphones.

Since the latest update of the modification I get thousands of entries in my error-log and all have to do with this
modification. What's wrong with it?

There is a newer version than 3.2.0. listed here on SMF available at tapatalk website that fixes those errors. You need to download and try 3.2.1 found here. http://tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php?plugin=smf

Hey guys,
I was hoping one you could help me out here. I was able to after a few painful hours, install the tapatalk plugin in to smf.
This is a forum on a private LAN which will not be exposed to the internet. Hence I did not register it with the talpatalk network.
When users get to the forum site on their mobile devices using a web browser (safari or chrome etc), they do NOT see a prompt letting them know that the site uses tapatalk and they can switch to it on the app.
Is there a setting I am missing? I looked at every option and was not able to find one. Any suggestions? thoughts?
Thanks!

Found a very disturbing issue with Tapatalk MOD... it doesn't take into account new permissions introduced by custom MODs.

Quote from: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=285749(...) Mobile devices need a different lightweight kind of UI than the styles designed for desktop/laptop computers. Therefore mobile forum UI apps like Forum Runner and Tapatalk have gained popularity with forum users and admins in recent years. However there are problems with using these apps which forum admins need to be aware of.

The problem is, and I learned this the hard way that while these apps respect default vbulletin permissions, they don't work with custom mods that alter these permissions since the APIs don't call the hooks that these mods use. So what happens is that you may find that a mod which works perfectly with desktops will not work/can be bypassed with these mobile apps.

In Tapatalk most of these hooks are just commented out. You can uncomment them and get some of the mods working but this may not work correctly or it could prevent tapatalk from functioning correctly.

So if you have some custom mods that is necessary for normal functioning of your forum then consider that these mod may not work with Tapatalk/Forum Runner and users may be able to bypass any custom permissions that you have set. In some cases this may outweigh any additional functionality that these mobile apps offer and you may have to dispense with the use of these mobile apps altogether so that your custom mods work properly.

Like the above on vbulletin, the same bypass/override happens on SMF version.

I installed the mod, and installed the .99 app on my iPhone.  It appears to work, except I cannot seem to post messages when logged in thru my iPhone.  Is this a config ?  I couldn't find a 'deluxe' version of Tapatalk on the iTunes store.

Plus, did you register with Tt as a forum owner, and plug your forum details into their system?

I have some question in regards to this on tapatalk
If a users wants to create a account in tapatalk interface, he has an option of opening it via chrome and from there he can register by Facebook as chrome will open my website automatically and it has a Facebook link.
My question is how a user will login to my site using tapatalk as for signing in, he has to provide user name and password, but my site does not requires one and it authenticates directly via facebook

Well yes :) The new version apparently added a settings page. I used to use version 3.0.2 and everthing was great. I decided to upgrade in order to use Tapatalk HD for tablets. Now everything is broken. I have no settings page and tapatalk is stuck on my phone saying "Processing" and on my tablet saying "Connecting".

Nope, nothing to install. They only have a template file which should work off default. I copied it over just to test, no difference.
Anyone have any ideas how those integration hooks work? I'm looking at their code and that is how they are doing the settings page. I have no clue why its not working...

Ok, solved my own problem with the settings page.

I basically did it the old fashioned way.

I copied the stuff in Subs-tapatalk into Admin.php and everything appeared.

To no surprise, the mod was turned off by default!.

Turned it on, and everything else started working fine!

No;     Tapatalk_SMF2_3.2.3.zip which is here on SMF.

The failure parsing Post.php is due to the Board Notification Mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1861).  Uninstall that, install TapaTalk plugin, reinstall the mod. Job done.

I've had a rough time with this mod and I am also a newbie to running a forum

First problem was I picked up the mod here and it turned out that it was an old version, it made a change to the display file, and it would not uninstall with out an error, learned FTP uninstalled the mod and replaced the display file with the backup file.

I then downloaded and installed the newest version from the tapatalk web site.

Now I have these problems, in admin > Configuration > Tapatalk settings are the following questions;

Enable tapatalk                                          which I checked
Enable Tapatalk Push Notification                what is Push Notifcation and should it be checked
Enable forum view for guest by tapatalk      I decided not to allow this
Enable Tapatalk Notifier in Chrome              what is Notifier in Chrome and should it be checked
Register page url                                         Is this my forum URL and should the /index.php be left off as
                                                                 required in the add on the tapatalk forum app setup
Push Notification Key                                  What is  Push Notification Key
Usergroup allowed on Tapatalk                   I would like the default user group I believe, how is this specified

In addition in help they say to manually change permission of all files under mobiquo/ folder (including the folder itself) to chmod 755 otherwise it won't work!!

If I go to administration Center > Package Manager > File Permissions

I do not see mobiquo/ folder
How do I make the requested file permission change

In administration Center > Package Manager > Browse Packages
I do have Tapatalk SMF 2.0 RC5/Final Plugin installed

If I go to Administration Center » Package Manager » Browse Packages » List files in package
I do find

First problem was I picked up the mod here and it turned out that it was an old version, it made a change to the display file, and it would not uninstall with out an error, learned FTP uninstalled the mod and replaced the display file with the backup file.

I then downloaded and installed the newest version from the tapatalk web site.

Now I have these problems, in admin > Configuration > Tapatalk settings are the following questions;

You won't find the mobiquo folder in SMF admin, you will have to view the files on your server via a FTP program, or from your server cPanel and then change the permissions for the folder and its contents.

"Push Notification" allows the forum software to initiate the stimuli for topic/board/post notifications. You should enable this.

"Enable Tapatalk Notifier in Chrome" is an annoying feature for Chrome users, which gives them a nice little nudge when they access your forum. It's an advertising gimmick and you might want to turn that feature off.

QuoteUser of your forum using Google Chrome web browser will be notified with the availability of 'Tapatalk Notifier for Chrome'. Tapatalk Notifier for Chrome is a web browser extension that notify your members with a small alert when he received a new Private Message from your forum. This is a one time alert and is a great tool to keep your users engaged with your forum.

"Push Notification Key" is a value you get from your "forum owners" section in Tapatalk.com. It's not mandatory and I still don't know why or how it's user.

QuoteOptional. To improve the quality of Push Notification from your forum, please fill-in copy and paste the Push Notification Key from Tapatalk Forum Owner Area to here.

"Usergroup allowed on Tapatalk". Click the help icon in the ACP to see the meaning and use of this:

QuoteAllow usergroups to login via Tapatalk, leave this option empty means that all usergroups users can login via Tapatalk. Different usergroups should be departed by comma, for example, "3,11,6" which means only users who belongs to 3,6 and 11 usergroups can login via Tapatalk.

Leave the Registration URL as you found it - it looks ok as supplied by default.

You say you can't find the app on your phone? Presumably you paid for it, then installed it? How can you not find it? Can you get to a list of installed apps...?

Doesn't sound like much fun being a "gear head"

I've found the permissions side of things rather "hit and miss".

If my folders aren't 755 then the phone app reports "unable to contact server", whereas I can get away with half the files being 644, the rest 755.

Hello,

I'm newbie with SMF.

I'm using 2.0.3 ver and recently I've installed Tapatalk, all files and folders into the mobiquo folder was changed to Cmod 0755 including itself, all seemed right but, mod was working but I've observed a problem with new threads, when you try to create a new thread on the board, this message is appearing:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tapatalk_push_reply() (previously declared in /srv/disk1/669395/www/4x4mania.ro/forum/mobiquo/push_hook.php:3) in /srv/disk1/669395/www/4x4mania.ro/forum/mobiquo/push_hook.php on line 47

Anyway the message is posted... also Tapatalk returns an error if you try to post new threads from the mobile...

The error appears just when you try to post a new thread, not in replies to existing threads.

Any ideas? Tapatalk is an usefull aplication and would be a pity to renounce to it due to this.

Thanks in advance.

We were using version 3.0.1, the only modifications was a couple of lines in Load, then the mobiquo directory added... now version 3.2.3 has a lot of modified files... why?

Ufffff... uninstalled 3.0.1, then tried to install 3.2.3... files were created 0 bytes, no code changed at all... what a fail...

Which version is the latest one without touching a lot of files? someone knows it? any chance to download it?
We are using the pmx-subforums mod, with a lot of subforums... so, the idea was to merge some pmxsubforums code in the tapatalk code, to be able to use subforums... mmm complicated :(

The latest version of the plugin is 3.6.0.

Why isn't it up to date on here?  Shouldn't it be?

I'm having problems with it, and haven't had problems with the previous updates.

index.template.php in the classic theme isn't being updated by the install routine so my forum's tapatalk facility is now broken.

yeah, they don't really update here. They do send an email about the updates though.

I don't have any problems with the latest version, otherwise I would have been bugged by a user by now :)

edit:
Ok I checked my error log, and there seems to be a bunch of dodgy stuff going on, some new includes in Load.php etc... not nice, lots of errors...

This line in Load.php causes errors on my forum :

   include('mobiquo/smartbanner.php');   $context['menu_separator'] = !empty($settings['use_image_buttons']) ? ' ' : ' | ';

Doesn't there need to be a $board_dir in the include? Also, there needs to be a newline at the end, this is crappy coding. Don't they bother to check the modification results before releasing it??

Anyway, the errors that appeared in my chatbox:

Warning: include(mobiquo/smartbanner.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/hulpv/Sources/Load.php on line 1606

Warning: include(mobiquo/smartbanner.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/hulpv/Sources/Load.php on line 1606

yes,

Changed it to:
include($boarddir.'/mobiquo/smartbanner.php');

theres also another little bug that generates undefined warnings, check their boards for a fix.

Their new banner's hardcoded text strings aren't very nice too, they need a language file or something...

Hi guys,

I got a problem that I'm hypothesizing came about with a Tapatalk install.  (At least it magically appeared when Tapatalk was installed.) My sites mobile users didn't complain much. My PC users saw all kinds of problems.

For starters, here's what I got for add ons...

Quote
1.    SMF 2.0.4 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
2.    SMF 2.0.3 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
3.    SMF 2.0.2 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
4.    SimpleAds    1.0.1    [ Uninstall ]
5.    Stop Spammer    2.3.9    [ Uninstall ]
6.    Adk Snow Effect    2.0    [ Uninstall ]
7.    Favicon    1.2

The problems I was seeing are the following:

1.) Upon a simple PC browser search for my site, a user can click on one of the search engine supplied links for my site. Instead of going to the site, it would redirect the user to Google.
2.) Upon browser search again...click on my site link, the SMF side of my site would bring up a windows box with a zip file for advertizement. The box would ask the user how they wanted to open/save a zip file with ad junk in it. The given URL source for the ads seemed to be coming from same ads that were shown to my mobile tapatalk users.
3.) I get all kinds of time-out errors and slow downs.
4.) I get server time outs from these misfit ads. eg, what ever server is running the ad, it times out, and throws an error message at the PC users.

I've since uninstalled the tapatalk mod. The problems slowed down in intensity, but they are still there. I've talked to my hosting company. They checked everything from their side and found nothing wrong. I've got tons of server capacity available, so size of the site is not an issue. I'm running numerous other links to non-SMF content and pages. None of the other links are affected...just the SMF portion is seeing problems.

Any thoughts?

Is there such thing as a "SMF coding checker" software that I can run the SMF side of my site through?

Thanks

Yup, I looked at the logs and they are going batsnot crazy when one of the slowdowns hits. I cannot find any rhyme nor reason to the errors.

Sorry about the lag...out on business.

Old Fossil, I'm seeing one critical error repeating itself. Repeated itself 30 times since we talked last It is;

QuoteWrong value type sent to the database. Integer expected. (id_msg)
Function: Display
Apply Filter: Only show the errors from this file
File: /home/sk***ard/public_html/smf/Sources/Display.php
Line: 842

I have all kinds of unique errors. Most of which have to do with members email. Do you need to see the unique errors?

The coding for around line 842 is as follows;
Quote
825   // Guests can't mark topics read or for notifications, just can't sorry.
826   if (!$user_info['is_guest'])
827   {
828      $mark_at_msg = max($messages);
829      if ($mark_at_msg >= $topicinfo['id_last_msg'])
830         $mark_at_msg = $modSettings['maxMsgID'];
831      if ($mark_at_msg >= $topicinfo['new_from'])
832      {
833         $smcFunc['db_insert']($topicinfo['new_from'] == 0 ? 'ignore' : 'replace',
834            '{db_prefix}log_topics',
835            array(
836               'id_member' => 'int', 'id_topic' => 'int', 'id_msg' => 'int',
837            ),
838            array(
839               $user_info['id'], $topic, $mark_at_msg,
840           ),
841       array('id_member', 'id_topic')
842         );
843     }

Sorry, I couldn't quite figure out how to get the "Code Quote" to work.

Also, in revisiting the 4 symptoms I had listed above, I had found a computer that was slow enough to watch what was going on. In symptom #1 with the redirect to google, it appears that my boards are connecting, then redirected to a website gery.yourcrystalball.com (http://gery.yourcrystalball.com), then redirect to google. I have no idea what that site is and how it got there. Whatever the site is, it only shows up on a google search. From what I can tell,  that site is running a robot.txt file which blocks search engine bots, and limits that site to password access only. I've been all through the codes and I can't figure out how it got there. Googling a "robot.txt file" gave me...

i decided to try this wonderful app again.....everything installed fine. when i want to test it via my Blackberry

1. i saw something like this
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1ja9FqFWtt8/UZCPS5lGewI/AAAAAAAACKg/WQ3qW4fo2Xw/w480-h360-no/munch_2013_05_11_064812.png)

when i click on "open in app" , i got this message...... "the protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. please try a different URL"

if i choose the second option. it will redirect me where i will pay $1.99 :(

now my questions are......
1. i was thinking people viewing with blackberry, iphone and android will "automatically" redirect to the app without any due progress???

2. why am only seeing the notification on there. i prefer people using the app strength than asking them to....unlike wap2 (which i am using for people working with opera mini and other micro browser)

3. is this how the app work or did i make any mistake(s)

thanks

The reason I ask is it seems that ever since I updated to TapaTalk 3.6.0 the other day I keep seeing this in our error logs.

Bug: static variables missing in obExit in Subs.php (SMF 2.0)

In http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=2504;attach=214773;smf_version=2.0
we can see that the line
static $header_done = false, $footer_done = false, $level = 0, $has_fatal_error = false;

Is REPLACED WITH some tapatalk code that does not include these static definitions
* This means that the line
++$level will cause an error
* In addition, obExit will not function as designed when it is called recursively.

Workaround: The install set should ADD AFTER instead of REPLACEing those static definitions.

It's probably preferable to get the official software from tapatalk.com, not from sm.org.

Well, you can always go over to (eg) Google Play (store) and see that there's no longer a download charge, for Android anyway, though it's probably a beta release.

Hello:

I was another one that thought this site was where I could get the latest version of the mod. I installed then mod from here and when I went to configure it it directed me to install an updated mod from the TapaTalk site.

In trying to uninstall the mod I get the following message:

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

8.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Display.php    Test failed
       3.    Replace    ./Sources/Display.php    Test failed

I did not proceed with the uninstall. Any suggestions on how I successfully and safely uninstall this?

Have a look at the mods parser.

This is the dropdown list below where you downloaded the mod from.

Have you looked at the tapatalk website for any ideas?

Its a beta, and only works on tablets...
