Title: External links in new window
Post by: James--- on May 06, 2012, 10:53:39 AM
How can I let the outgoing links open in a new window,
so that the forumvisitor will not leave the forum by clicking on a link.

All links posted in the forum open in new windows/tabs by default, and has done for years.

That's what I thought too, but please look at the YouTube URL in this post:

On my computer, it doesn't open in a new window or tab. Do you experience the same?
How can I change it back to normal so that external windows do open in a new window?

Can't tell since your forum appears to be in maintenance mode.

The link has class="bbc_link new_win" target="_blank" in it, and on my Firefox browser it opens in a new tab. Is that the behavior you're looking for? Maybe it's a configuration difference in your browser, or you just fixed it in the last few minutes?

Thanks for all the help. I checked it again today and it appears that only in my Opera browser the external links doesn't open in new tabs or windows, but in my internet explorer browser, all the links are opened in new tabs, just as it should be. So it is not a forum problem. Thanks everybody. Marked as solved.
