I see there are tick boxes down the right hand side.
What do (will) they do?

It's a sort of quick administration for moderators. Look into the Test Board.

I think my members would ask the same, is it not possible only to display it for moderators or admin?

I think it is. We've to ask Unknown, which state of development this feature has.

You can disable them in your profile, I'd imagine there will be an option in the admin section to disable them by membergroup as well, but thats just a guess.

You can indeed, there are three options, Check Boxes, Icons, Don't display.
Check boxes is the default but as it is no use to normal users maybe a global setting to override it would be better. IMHO

Two comments.

Does the theme option only show up for those with moderator powers?  Normal users may be confused by it.

Can the icon view do two icons on two rows?  Makes the page shorter.

Actually, it should be 4 like this: X X X X.  It's using nonbreaking spaces - which means it should *not* break.

But yeah, I agree.  I saw the idea just today in a mod and asked if I could use it.

I can't really make it turn off if you don't have moderators powers because of the testing board.  (situations like it, I mean.)  It could be a permission, but that seems a little much.

It only shows options you can do though... so it should show nothing, in theory, if you can do nothing.

Do they need to be displayed for anyone apart from moderators/GM's and admins?

Or in boards where people dont have full permissions? Seems pointless that they are displayed in boards that I cannot use them on.

I can only see them (the icon versions) on the etst board - I assume that they've set a special permission there.

IMHO, it would reduce joe-user confusion if they were unaware of it...
