Calendar Events in News Fader

Would like a feature to display calendar events automatically in the news fader.  Each event posted would have a box to check to include in the news fader.  Classes of events, eg birthdays, should be included or excluded globally with individual override option for the specific event.  Would also be nice to have a span of days that events would appear in the fader such that an event could be 'advertised' up to and including its date after which it would drop from the fader.  A feature tied to this that would, optionally, open a topic in a specified board when the event on the date the event first appears in the fader should be incorporated in the mod.
