Free has a built in convertor from Aeva. And contains all image uploading features along with categories.

I have old Coppermine Gallery and newer Aeva Media installed.

I want to move both to one site and use SMF Gallery mod, but there is only Aeva converter. That's not a problem, I think Aeva has Coppermine  importer so I later convert both Aeva databases to SMF Gallery.
Is there any script to merge two galleries using SMF Gallery?

All of the importers to all the current systems don't really handle merging all that well, they tend to reuse all the ids, so merging doesn't tend to work too well (this applies to the Aeva importer, the SMF Gallery importer for Aeva and my importers)

I do not have a script to merge galleries as stated as both that is the issue with reusing id's instead of making newer ones which makes the import process easier.

I did test conversion Aeva > SMF Gallery (over 3000 images and 6000 comments ) but I have one more question - should your converter convert user created albums from Aeva?
After conversion I see new category named "Member Galleries" but it's empty. I know that user galleries are available in Pro version, but is there way to get pictures from Aeva user galleries to SMG general album?

Right now they are just held in place in case you upgrade to pro.
You can move them over to a general category but this will need to be reverse if you upgrade to pro.

It requires an mysql query UPDATE smf_gallery_pic SET ID_CAT = #IDCATHERE# WHERE USER_ID_CAT != 0

eeh tried the free version, but it is total crap compared to avea ... i mean seriously you upload pictures and then instead of it taking the user to the picture they uploaded, it takes them to myimages, where the picture they just effing uploaded is somewhere among the pages of other uploads, because you can't even sort that by last uploaded??!?

i mean this is so bad on so many fronts i dont event want to look at the pro year license version

and multi file upload is a pro feature?

Yes it goes to myimages because what if the picture is not approved yet it won't be visible. No reason to flip out mate.
Multiupload is a pro only feature.
The lite version is very simple compared to the pro version. If aeva works for you then stick with it.

...And that makes total sense ....when as the admin and the sole user who can approve pictures gets the same functionality uploading, as a user who cannot approve the upload so that it is seen in the proper gallery

you say that, but i'm thinking the pro version probably isn't that pro from what i've seen.

Signup on createaforum.com includes SMF Gallery Pro You can make your choice based on that. I can easily say SMF Gallery Pro is the best gallery on the market right now and I have looked at all the options.  Plus been around six years and still updated and a thousand plus customers.

Hello,

I've just installed this mod to my forum, and I needed to know if something that I thought was included with this version, is able to be done. ..

What I'd like to do is have user folders for their own pictures, rather than "all" pictures be in the same folder. This way, when someone comes to visit the gallery, they can go to the correct user folder to view their work, rather than see a bizillion pictures all at the same time which they didn't want to see.

I don't see in the admin panel where this is a function of this version...is it?

User galleries/member galleries are not part of SMF Gallery Lite but are a feature in SMF Gallery Pro.
In the free version. You can have multiple categories but pictures in the categories can have multiple members in the same category.

Ok, thanks...I'm guessing there is no way to set it up how I'd like it without going pro right? I only ask because my site doesn't have the amount of traffic yet to justify buying the pro version.

If I do end up getting the amount of traffic I feel would justify the purchase, and I did buy it, would I be able to install the pro version & have it automatically sort the images by the user to make the folders I want?

GalleryMemberUnviewedItems is not part of SMF Gallery Lite if you are a SMF Gallery Pro customer please post on http://www.smfhacks.com for support.

I think I have almost newest Lite but I see no Finnish text strings. So there is my contribution. Translation to Gallery.finnish-utf8.php. As far as I can say it seem to work. I have not tested all features but ... At least this translation seems to be good for basic user.
