I have a user who is always logged in, even after logging out.

They were concerned because they didn't want others to see what they had been posting from their computer, and anyone can walk up to their computer and be logged onto the board.

I had them clear their cache, but they are still logged in.

I changed their password, and I changed the name of the cookies that get saved on the local drive.

They still are always logged in as soon as they turn on their computer.

As far as I know, this user is the only one that has this problem. When I log out, I am locked out of the board until I log in again.

I even tried changing the user's password without telling them. Yet, the next day they are on the board as always.

Any ideas?

Sounds like they have a cookie for a different "breadth".

For example, you can have a cookie that applies to ANY subdomain on simplemachines.org, or one that is just for www.simplemachines.org.

Logging out only affects one of these.  So, if you have a cookie from another subdomain "breadth", you'll have the problem......

However, changing the cookie name should have fixed this.  If it did not... I'm at a loss.  I would suggest asking the user to try (just to see if it works/doesn't work) a different browser, such as:

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/why?

I am also wondering if having them delete their cookies would solve their problem.  I will ask them to do this.

They deleted their temporary cache files, but I do not know if they deleted their cookies.

Ah, I assumed that meant deleting their cookies.

Yes, deleting all their cookies, or any cookie related to the site may indeed help.
