Calander - Time slots per day

I want to use the calander for a basic booking system.
Is it possible to create a mod to set the calender so you can put an entry at a specific time of the day i.e. 10:00 to 14:00 on particular day rather than just a day entry?

If not, then I would be happy to just enter multiple day entries but have the title like this

10:00 - 14:00 (Booked by John)

The problem is, if someone books a slot in the afternoon, then later someone books a morning slot, say 09:00 - 10:00, the entries are listed in the same order they were posted like below:

10:00 - 14:00 (booked by Jane)
09:00 - 10:00 (booked by John)

Which does not 'read' right if you know what I mean.

Can this be automatically sorted alphabetically so the entries appear as follows:

09:00 - 10:00 (booked by John)
10:00 - 14:00 (booked by Jane)

Hope this makes sense and is possible.
