I recently purchased PhotoPost PHP and PhotoPost Classifieds to extend the functionality of my forum.  (http://www.photopost.com/)

PhotoPost comes with modules for integrating with major forums like phpBB and InvisionBoard but not for SMF.  Integration means that they would fully share the same member database.

So my intent was to take one of the modules, like the one for phpBB, and modify it to work with SMF instead.  But now that I'm diving into it, it's proving to be a little over my head.

Has anyone done this yet by any chance?

Anyone got lots of time on their hands and want to do this for fun?  ;)  Can't blame me for asking, right?!

This has not yet been made.

OK. Well I hope I can pull it off. I'll share the module when it's done.

I'm talking to the Photopost people about them doing this is as a custom job for a fee.  I'll update this thread with how this turns out and perhaps anyone else who needs Photopost support can purchase the "SMF module" from them.

Jay?

Depends on the "Purchase" price of the mod.  They have added free gateways to other popular forums, not sure why they would begin to charge for this one now.

Anyway, I would be interested in the mod as well - as I do have a personal site with that has photopost and currently using phpBB, yes I am a  convert - but this site cannot be changed over - yet.

If you need me to send an e-mail, so there is atleast two of us asking for the same intergration, that may help - but I'm not sure if they will do it for 2 people :|

Yeah. I wish they felt that way. They had never even heard of SMF (or YaBB) though so it was hard to convince them. Maybe they'll change their minds if a bunch of us request it though.

Jay?

I'm not sure - but from what I'm reading, SMF uses a different encryption technique to encode their passwords - which may be a limiting factor.  Unless we are able to get the two on a common ground it may be difficult. I was just reading about that in some other posts.

Anyway - the password storage is a topic for another post.

Any update on this?  I'm looking for a top notch classifides system that will use the SMF user DB.

To anyone interested in this thread... PhotoPost has written an SMF bridge for all of their products.

I use two copies of their classifieds software and one copy of their picture hosting software.  It's nicely integrated with SMF in that they share the member database.

So basically the PhotoPost software just pretends that your SMF member database is its own member database.  This includes the PhotoPost software recognizing member groups, etc.

Here are the three different places I'm using it:
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/
http://www.craftster.org/classifieds/
http://www.craftster.org/shopcrafty/

It's a nice way to add some more content to your site in your site is currently just a forum.

I'm not getting much support from the support team at photopost. I've had nothing but problems since I've installed the newest version. My main issues are with GD not working properly, and doing Bulk Uploads. Anyone on here feel like helping me out? I managed to combine SMF with PP but I've had the program 3 weeks and nothing but problems  >:(

Have you tried toggling between GD1 and GD2? Have you trie dto chmod your upload directroy to 777? I have an SMF and Photopost integration, true those folks at Photopost are either too arrogant to help or just dont knwo how to treat well their PAYING clients.
