Hello, everyone.

I got a note from one of my users that she was no longer receiving email. As far as I know, she is the only person who has this problem. I noticed that her email was an @aol.com email, and I remembered that all of the places that have you sign up with an email address always say to avoid using an AOL email... I'm thinking that the problem lies on her end, and not mine... Is there any way to confirm or fix this? I'd like to not mess with the settings if they are working for the majority of my members.

Thanks in advance!

Last i knew, AOL was notorious for blocking emails originating from servers residing in some of the largest datacenters around.  Unfortunately, this is AOL's problem, and it appears to be something they're not budging on -- period.

I suggest maybe your user try to get an email account through other means (i reccommend gmail, but that requires an invite (i have 95 of them if it is necessary))

I've had a few problems with a few members that use aol accounts as well. I've activated their accounts but recommended that they look at another email account...

If you have a cellular phone in the US, you can also have a text message sent with a code to register (if you don't have a text plan, you will have to pay for the text).

AOL is indeed bad about blocking randomly, and they don't unblock quickly even if you call their line and put in a ticket with them (it took me over four weeks to get a block removed on our servers). I highly recommend that user look into an alternative e-mail address to ensure they get all their mail, including from other senders.

I have found here in the UK that AOL users cannot receive the Activation e-mail.  :(
I suppose I should put something in my signature shouldn't I?
