Hi all--

I'm running a forum but email isn't working. My server's smtp port uses the standard 25 but it requires TLS. The email isn't getting sent with just the regular old username/password set in the Server Settings|Feature Configuration.

I found this link...
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=147905.0
that says to put:tls://my.smtp.server under the server (at least I think that's what the link is referring to...
but it still isn't sending mail.

The smtp server works in mozilla. I'm running php 4.4.4 and it's got ssl module enabled. Is there any way to test this? The failure to connect isn't reported in the error log. Is there a different spot to look for what error it's having? Do I need to change some php script somewhere?

Thanks for the help!

I think you put that in your SMTP server settings for the host/address
