Where in the admin options can you set the max avatar upload size in kb?

There isnt currently an option to limit it by file size.

is there a way to modify the source? i dont have gd and it seems not to upload files larger than 10 or 20 kb.

This may mean your PHP configuration is not allowing more than that to be sent...

ok i figured it out. some pictures were bigger than the allowed wxh dimensions. but i dont have gd installed [yet, as i'm just testing my mods on my xp apache server] so it does not say anything. perhaps some type of notification as to why the picture did not upload will be implemented in the future for people who dont have gd.

i'm off to install gd now.
