ban list question

hi, i have an interesting situation at the moment

recently i discovered in the "ban log" that i had a member (used to be staff but got demoted) that appeared to have been banned from the site.... i wish to remove this ban but it doesn't appear in the ban list so i'm a little bit confused, if it isn't in teh ban list does this mean that this member is still banned or not?

the ban log dated back for attempted connects to the site at around june

Well, it might be banning on some IP address she/he doesn't normally use.  Or on a hostname.... there are several things that could make it ban him/her.

ok, but why isn't it showing up in the ban list... is there a place in phpmyadmin that i can check out.... basicly all i want to do is remove the ban but cause it's not showing up in the "ban list" i don't know how to remove it

All the bans are in the "banned" table.
