A quater of a million hits, or 1 and a half million?

Hello,
I recently viewed my boards stats and it says I've had 207,871 hits this month, I checked this under Awstats, and it says my forums have had 1,473,957 hits. Which one would be correct? Also why are they so different? My forum is on a subdomain, and so the hits from my main website won't count towards the figure above.
  Any insight would be appreciated,

EDIT: Does the stats page only count page views, and not images loaded etc? Because that'd make more sense if so and explain my confusion. Awstats has recorded the forums getting 250,000 page views, and so this seems more logical. Also every time I refresh the stats page, the hit count only goes up about 2, if it was an image count, it'd be higher wouldn't it?

I think AWStats counts every single file hit.
Ah right, and SMF's stat page only counts page views?

That's right.  It doesn't even know about image views.

Ah right. Thanks  :) 1 thing: Why's it called hits, and not page views?

I've asked a few times, the hits stat should be renamed page views.

bit isn't a page view a hit. I don't mind it at all. . .
