Its fantastic news that SMF2.0 beta has been released.

I'm sure with all the new Charter Members it will create, Simple Machines LLC will be raking it in

I'm sure it will be very useful going forward as SMF gets bigger and better.

Ka Ching.

;)
I better grab Charter myself soon, I've already received my first PM for one of my mods.  Will this mod work with 2.0, can you make it work for 2.0 beta. ;)

I was fixing the link to the 2.0 Introduction topic and forgot about that. One of the Admins will be around soon and can fix it though.

Before I decide to pay for the membership, I just want to know if one thing is fixed in this version.  Will the viewable boards for the important groups (top part) override the viewable boards for the post-based (bottom part) groups?  Just wondering, because it is totally frustrating, because I put some members in a specific group for a specific access, but they still view everything, because of their current post-based group.

The html tag can only be used by admins.

I just tried to quote below code on my installed board....same happend while quoting below code (infect I clicked the Code button... same result) after selection resulted both starting and ending quote code and removed that code.....is that a bug?

<script type="text/javascript">
digg_url = 'http://digg.com/software/SMF_2_0_beta_1';
</script>
<script src="http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Edit: Any thing starting with < results this error, for example quoting <Example will result a single starting quote

I'm glad to see the release :) ...
Dug ed  the thread also ;)

This is great news.
Another milestone for SMF!!
Congrats and thanks to the devs for their hard work!

Aaron

This is absolutely great news. Congrats to everyone who's made this release possible! :)

karlbenson

Yeah.

In my experience, don't forget to thank the girlfriends, boyfriends, partners of the developers for their understanding.
They've probably lost a few nights out because of 'in the middle of writing this or that function for smf'.

:p

I echo the sentiments of many of the above posters.

Gary

Yeah, congrats to those involved, which doesn't include me, so why am I here? :P

Please don't let me put you off becoming a Charter Member, but (from what you've just said) please think twice about subscribing solely to put this first beta straight into a production environment.

Payment is completed according to Paypal, but Pending in my SMF profile. So I'm a bit confused :( I want to get up a test board.

Just checked the Paypal history and do see that the payment has completed. Your Charter Membership will be activated momentarily ;)
