I want to change it on my Forum, and also on my main website. I've been making sites for about 6 years now, and this is something I've never done, or even looked into lol. Could someone help

Where the blank symbol is, i would like to have my custom logo

Make a small image called favicon.ico and place it at the root of your server. Clear your cache and refresh.

by small - what dimensions exactly?

i could just use the images I've used on the Forums for "topics read"
Those images are 32x32 and another at 20x20

A favicon has to be in the root.

If you use a png or gif file only modern browser support that feature.  To reach a majority of browsers by default you'll still need to use an ico format file.
