I keep getting spammed and I have a lot of "enter it youself" scripts. Looking for a way to mod them so I can track the ip of the submitter. Secondly looking 4 a way to block that ip.

I use a normal board of my SMF forum as guestbook with local permission settings. Guest posting permitted. Post edit and reply disabled. So I have the normal forum moderator and ip tracking options.

What Andrea said, plus SSI would do what I think you want.

You're using CGI... you'll have to look at environment variables like REMOTE_ADDR.

how about adding something simple so that I am notified upon submit? That way I can atleast check the logs to see what IP is on at that time.

I know I had a script with that at one time..

andrea

Activate notification on that guestbook board and you have your emails...

ok, so those of you using your board for a guestbook.. got a link?

I am really looking to just integrate my board into a suite of sorts, I'll start another thread for that

(integrate my gallery, monthly articles, bbs, calendar, etc)
