I want to set up a forum for residents in my building, and was wondering which categories would work well. I was thinking of a news category, general discussion and maybe a classified section. Can anyone suggest other categories, or point me to similar forums? Thanks

Start small.  If you don't already have a ton of stuff to post in whatever boards you have, make only one category with five or fewer boards in it.  I think having four boards to begin--News, General, Classifieds, and Help would be a great start.

Whatever you do, make sure that the forum is unique to your building and the people in it.  They can go a lot of different places for the types of things you want to talk about--what will make them post on your site?

I think having a forum with local goings-on would be a great one too.  That would bring your forum count up to five, and it would give your buildingmates a reason to return regularly.
The only forum for students in North and South Dakota!  Campus Dakota.
