Lots of queries, is this normal?

When I view a topic om my board I noticed that it generates a lot of queries. For example, when I view a topic with 13 replies it says Page created in 0.188 seconds with 47 queries... isn't 47 queries a bit too much? Is this normal or did I do something wrong? I've installed the Fusebox mod and the Experience bar mod and disabled them in the admin but it still generates almost 50 queries.

hm, I switched my theme to the default theme and now it generates just 17 queries.. I can't find what I did wrong.

I traced the problem down to the display.template.php. If I replace that file with the original it works fine. Does anyone have an idea where in this file the problem might be?

I found the problem. The ExperienceBar mod generated all those queries. I removed it and it runs fine now. Problem solved

Sounds like the Experience Bar needs some tweaking

Hmmm... Unless you have a ton of membergroups, there's no reason that mod should be generating so many queries.
