I created 40, 20x20 animated post smilies for your SMF powered forum. They are all animated, clean, uniform, and go good with both light and dark backgrounds.

Comments welcome.

-Enjoy...

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Here are some steps to help with installation of the set the easiest way I know how. I did not make all the default smilies, but you can edit this yourself.

1.| Upload and apply mod through package manager.

2.| Go to: "Admin > Forum > Smilies & Message Icons".

3.| In settings, check "Enable Customized Settings".

4.| In Smiley Sets, Create "New Smiley Set". Name it "XarSmilies-1", then from the dropdown URL should be "XarSmilies-1", and finally be sure to check "import all smiley's already in this directory".

5.| In Edit Smiley Sets, select "XarSmilies-1" from the dropdown set(top-right), and edit smiley set as desired.

Hi,

Great smilies, I realy like it.
However, I have a problem when using the smilies in my forum.

Some smilies are not shown as I don't think you made them.
So how can I remove that from my "Start New Topic" page or will you update us with the latest smilies?

Attached is the screenshot.

Hope you can help me solve this problem.
Thanks.

You need to edit your sets manually.

I will write a guide for this shortly.

Ive installed these and they look nice.

One comment - not about the smilies.

Why is it so damn difficult to add smileys on SMF

Xarcell

lol, I know right?

I tried to come up with a way to add them via DB as well, so that you wouldn't have to do anything. However, I'm much of a coder, so I was unsuccessful in my attempt.

hello,

I have just installed XarSmilies-1 & 2 according to the procedure but smilies are not displayed in smf message editor and in smf post editor.
The only thing is displayed is a box with a red cross in it.

Nevertheless, the smilies pictures are well displayed when editing them in admin/smilies/edit smiley.

Would you help me to have these wonderful smilies well displayed ?

Thanks a lot

In the meantime, Ifound the problem :

Every smilies (old and newones) must be in each smillies folders (old and newones)

Are you using SMF 2.0? If so I believe it is not supported. It is only compatible with SMF 1.1.4. ;)
