first impressions..

1) looks a bit clunky and bodged...

2) doesnt have 'cool' factor

(if u've read william gibson's new book 'pattern recognition'.. this reminds me of that)

3) Its not instantly recognisable for what it is.

I agree with everything except #3. I think everyone knows what it is.  But thats just me.  And don't be sorry. Its just the first thing I thought of for early communication and simple machines.  

Besides I know its not "cool" but I kinda liked it.
