So its been going for almost a month now we are a few days off so that means over a month to go, and right now we are looking at over 20 themes in the competition, this of course doesnt include the few we had to remove for rule breaking.  We have had an amazing time looking at the themes, some new styles some new authors and alot of nice looking themes, the competition bar is high but from all of the people who are involved in the contest directly we do thank everybody who has submitted a theme and look forward to seeing what new styles are released in the remaining month.

I always start by making something in Photoshop. Then I make something from HTML. Then I transfer that to PHP. Makes all of the steps easier and ensures that I am doing each portion right. I don't want to worry about how I will do something in HTML when I am trying to imagine the page. Oh, I also have come to creating Powerpoint presentations for them too. That allows me to think about the flow of a site but that isn't too much to do with a theme.

Same. Minus the powerpoint part. I usually whip up a flat design in Fireworks, then work from there before moving to HTML and PHP.

im opposite i have an idea and start the coding then do the images and such to fit ...
