Bug (!?) in member's general stats page?

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded my board from 1.0.x branch to 1.1.4 (but what I'm going to describe happens here, too), and I noticed that member's stats page looks different than it used to.

"Most Popular Boards By Posts" shows a list, correctly sorted by number of posts in each board, but the blue bar length is not proportional to this number anymore (or as it still is in the general stats page).

I'm no PHP coder, but I've had a look at the sources: well, it seems that that bar is merely a duplication of the percentage value indicated on the "Most Popular Boards By Activity" sub-panel.

Maybe it is intentionally done this way, but as I said it looked different at least on 1.0.x SMF branch, and the bars on every other top10 list still looks the way I think it should on the general stats page.

PS: any suggestions on how to manually fix this "bug" (is it so?!) until a new version is released is more than welcome. :)

The posts bar is based off the total number of topics in that board. If you are the only one posting in that board, then the bar would be full. But if you post 50% of the time and other users 50% of the time, the your bar would only be 50% full.

Such as my profile here,

compared to our stats

While the english support boards is the most popular, it is a lower bar on mine as I only account for a very small porition of the posts there.

First of all, thanks for your reply. :)

Yep, I understand that.

Problem is, on previous versions of SMF (up to 1.1.4 beta 3 I think) the "logic" of that bar was the same as in the general stats page: the greater the absolute number of posts, the longer the bar.

But it sounds like it was intentionally changed to act this way, wasn't it?!

Could it be that you need to uninstall and reinstall the mod for 1.1.4?

There's no mod involved (well, I think :D), what I'm talking about is the standard behaviour of the default theme on SMF 1.1.4

Is this what you're speaking of? (note: i only edited out board names that members or charter members would not be able to see)

Yes!

Unfortunately I'm not able to link any old-style profile page (I had one actually, but they just switched to 1.1.4 a couple of days ago, damn! >:(), but I can assure that in my previous 1.0.x setup the bar length was always proportional to the absolute number of posts and not to the (relative) percentage of that particular user activity on said board.

This is not a bug and is how the SMF Developers intended it to work.
