I run a forum that is invite only, that is we never accept new members unless we invited them first. This means that i have to delete a great number of new uninvited users every day.

If i just had the ability to type in an email somewhere and then a letter of invitation would be sent to the new user with at one use only link for registration, i would save a lot of trouble every day.

I hope that you will consider it.

Thanks in advance
klaus

thats not the issue, i still need to have new members once in a while (twice a day right now) but i dont want all the others to be able to make accounts.
that makes for something in between the two (on/off)

a simple fix would be to copy the registration code into a new file... and replace the original with "you must be invited to join"... then send the special link to the new file to new members... (of course it'd take some coding and tweaking... but not too hard)

This would be a cool feature.  Then take it to another step where members get registration codes every X days or whatever like LiveJournal does.
This space for rent.
