Hey guys

I am working on a site which has started about 5 years ago and that time it was php - nuke.  (I'm working on it about 6 months).

So many programmers has worked on the nuke , that I can say now it is not actually a php-nuke cause of a lot of changes.

But  I believe the members part still maybe like the raw nuke.
As I'm kinda in love with SMF, I insisted to install SMF on this site.  the site already have about 12,000 members and a lot of views per day ...

The only thing I want to do is, I make it like if someone login to the site, it login on the SMF too and vice versa. I don't need the messages and other things. SMF can have its new tables ...

I'm so afraid that i damage this site, Cause I've worked a lot on it.

I'd really appreciate if someone help me out how to achive such thing.
Thanks in advance

Are you wanting to bridge SMF and your heavily modified php-nuke site?

You may want to read our Bridges forum for information on doing this, I have seen php-nuke site use SMF, so its possible. Just may require some more edits :P

Thanks for replying. This is a  nightmare to me.

I searched and read about 10 threads in portal, bridge and integration board.
From what I read I guess I will be needing a bridge.

according to these threads :

It is working.  login, logout, and registration are done.  THe bridge is in CVS now.

I will work on a login block yet to replace the default PhpNuke block.

What makes me happy is that, Orstio has posted that in 2005. So it must be completely finish by now.
But I can't find it on the site. Where's CVS ?

cvs/svn is only available to SMF team members and beta testers.

You would have to ask Orstio if he wouldn't mind letting you use the bridge he made and supply you the files.

There was an issue with a function name collision.  During the time I posted that, the colliding function name had been changed in SMF, but was changed back before the stable release of 1.1, so I haven't worked on PhpNuke since it will require modification to either PhpNuke or SMF.

But still I don't know how am I gonna start it.
Please help me :/

A good place would be to look at some of the current bridges to give you an idea how they work with code added. This should hopefully give you a base to integrate your site with.

btw, I noticed this. I don't know the progress on it
