Oops, should have said that myself. Thanks boss. :)
DO NOT pm me for support!

xapim

well my problem still persists :(

Can you check to see if the code below is in your custom theme's index.template.php-

   //SMFPacks Shoutbox -->
if (function_exists('template_shoutbox')) template_shoutbox('main');
// <-- SMFPacks Shoutbox

Thanks so much guys, appreciate it! Just starting out so I'm learning how everything is done lol.  I have one more question.

Is there a way to get the smileys to pop out horizontally instead of vertically?  We have something like 50 smileys and its hard to find the one you would want to use vertically
Yes, I have that on mine, however I had to heavily edit it. It uses tables, and those cause problems with the images. Removing the "footer" area tables should do the trick. Then just use css to remove the "br" tags on the images and float them to the left, then give your emote div a bigger size. I can try to give you my files if you want to copy the changes.

Here's how mine is:

http://imageshack.com/a/img911/5883/XHfUaK.png

I have been reading for several days this long topic trying to find something related about what JoeBrodsky ask, how to set the smileys appear into the main smileys windows in rows of 5 or 6 smileys instead a long column of 1 per row.

With the reply of Gwenwyfar i have tried for my own for several days as well to solve this issue, but first i would have to find the files to edit :D

The only file i could edit is "Shoutbox.template.php", editing the size of the main smileys window to my needs, but now i can't find where i have to continue editing, i can't find any footer areas less i can find any related css to shoutbox as Gwenwyfar suggested.

I'm asking if anyone could help me at least to find the files to edit to make the smileys appear into the main smileys windows in rows of 5 or 6 or whatever more than 1 per row.

Of course, if anyone comes with the solution it will be a bomb :D but at least i need to know the files related.

Thanks in advance.

just checked the index template.php and searced for the word shoutbox the only thing i can find is this:

// Custom banners and shoutboxes should be placed here, before the linktree.

   // Show the navigation tree.
   theme_linktree();
}

so i dont have nothing in the template what should i do ?

regards

br360

That is probably your issue then as to why it isn't showing up ;)

You are going to have to manually add that code into your custom theme's index.template.php.

Make sure to back up that file first of course.

here is the template code:

/* This template is, perhaps, the most important template in the theme. It
contains the main template layer that displays the header and footer of
the forum, namely with main_above and main_below. It also contains the
menu sub template, which appropriately displays the menu; the init sub
template, which is there to set the theme up; (init can be missing.) and
the linktree sub template, which sorts out the link tree.

The init sub template should load any data and set any hardcoded options.

The main_above sub template is what is shown above the main content, and
should contain anything that should be shown up there.

The main_below sub template, conversely, is shown after the main content.
It should probably contain the copyright statement and some other things.

The linktree sub template should display the link tree, using the data
in the $context['linktree'] variable.

The menu sub template should display all the relevant buttons the user

Find this-

// Show the navigation tree.
   theme_linktree();
}

function template_body_below()
{

Replace with this-

// Show the navigation tree.
   theme_linktree();

//SMFPacks Shoutbox -->
if (function_exists('template_shoutbox')) template_shoutbox('main');
// <-- SMFPacks Shoutbox

}

function template_body_below()

MULITRI

Now that xapim's problem it's solved, i would like to ask again for help with what i posted some posts above...

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=269091.msg3916775#msg3916775

I really would appreciate some help from any expertise member, because i can't find how to try it for myself, as it can be read in my previous post.

Thanks in advance

MULITRI

I'm sorry to bump.

Anyone could help me to at least know where do i have to edit to make the smileys show in rows?

I can't find what file do i need to work for it.

Please, Thanks.

MULITRI

Well, i had to resize the smileys first window to make them all visible, it's overlapping a half of chat but we will live with that lol

What it seems it cannot be altered is the font size of the messages into the chat wndow, i was able to change "smalltext" in all other texts except the messages, the font size it's really small.

The closest comment about this issue after read the whole topic (arf arf) was made by NinjaZX
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=269091.msg3722087#msg3722087

but as you said Ninja, you aren't who must to give support, but if you kindly could PM me how to change messages font size as you did with another member, i will appreciate it very much, anyway i understand what you say you might not do it, or you will get you inbox bombed hehe

I hope you consider to help, is what left me to finish with this month after so many time fighting with it without luck.... or without knowledge :D

Thank you

P.D.: My thought... if a Mod is no longer supported by his creator.... shouldn't be closed his support thread? I know there are still kind and expertise members who could help, but maybe in a different topic... just a thought and suggestion.

Arantor

Quoteshouldn't be closed his support thread?

This is a long standing debate. Thing is, for a lot of mods, they still work just fine and don't require much support and it would be unfair to remove things that otherwise still work just because the person in question has moved on.

It's also possible other people take up the mantle - like Ninja did in trying to help. This particular mod is a bit awkward as it wasn't originally written by SMFPacks.com, he just bought it up and then sells a paid upgrade version so there's limited support here so you're 'encouraged' to buy the premium version.

MULITRI

yeah, you're maybe right there, it was a thought but maybe for particular cases.

i've read it's really hard (to not say impossible) to get support of his creator, i can say i've suffered it as well hehe

but i've been since long time ago in creator's site and there is nothing about the paid version, they may have removed it.

I only need to find how to change the font size, and it will be ok for me how it is, at least until a better chat could appears in the future.

Thanks for your reply Arantor

Edit: I was searching in the worng site lol i have found the Shoutbox Pro... sorry :-[

TheBeast01

Hello.
I just got my SSL update (from html) and i've changed all links to https, but SHoutbox doesnt work. Also, smilies in pvt msgs...
Can someone help me?
Its SMFPacks Shoutbox 105

MULITRI

Hello TheBeast,

My forum runs under https as well, but i installed the forum to run with https, in your case i can figure you installed your forum firstly as http, so you will need to edit all the paths via Admin panel, or better using the file "repair_settings.php", available to download from SMF.

I hope it helps.

edi1967

how i can add some pic in shoutbox for example

[img]url...[/img]

or some external URL ?

thx for help

Steve

Read the first post, particularly the part in red.

Hey Nibogo, if I purchase this, does it install over the free one or do I remove the free one first then install the Pro?
DO NOT pm me for support!
