Hi, I have noticed a couple of times over the last week that when I browse the who's online I have one or two that state "Nothing, or nothing you can see.." under Action.

This is starting to cause some concern as we have also recently been hit by a bunch of Ukranian porno spammers.
To combat this, I have changed registration to the site to require admin approval, but now I am getting a message like the one above.

What exactly does "Nothing, or nothing you can see..." actually mean? Where are these people and what are they doing?

If anyone can shed any light on the subject I'd appreciate it.

Cheers

When users are accessing areas that require a session validation and that you don't have permission to view.

Thanks for answering so quickly.
Surely as Admin I have the rights to see everything don't I?

Perhaps, if this is the only time this occurs, a change of description in Action would be less ambiguous i.e. "Validating Session" Just a thought.

So this is nothing to be concerned about then?

Thanks

It's 99.9% not a problem that you should be concerned with. :)

It's probably a guest that timed-out or is trying to access a section that isn't validated (empty session).

The other .1% is that you have been hacked by an unknown exploit that some guy that lives in his basement found since they have no lives. :P

It also means smf would be more secure from the new findings. ;)
