When I try install the updated mod by et10yl I get the following error.

Table 'a6273766_df.custom_fields' doesn't exist
File: /home/a6273766/public_html/Packages/temp/install.php
Line: 16

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is extremely old, but I'm having this same error.  I'm completely new at this.  Any ideas anyone?

EDIT:  Never mind.  Got it working.

The link has been removed. Is there another way to obtain this attached file? :)

I know this mod hasn't been updated since 2008 but I'm unable to find other solutions to view or report on our members Custom Profile Fields.

Many thanks

Hi,

there was a compatible version of the mod posted some time ago here:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=276734.msg2768002#msg2768002

Unfortunately this was removed, maybe ask the creator via PM.

I went ahead and did a manual installation of Custom Fields On Memberlist - for 2.0.11

However after the installation I get thrown this database error after clicking on 'View the Memberlist'

Unknown column 'show_mlist' in 'where clause'
File: /home/xlhforum/public_html/forum/Sources/Memberlist.php
Line: 89

I'm unsure what i've done wrong since I've followed the instructions perfectly.

I appreciate any help - many thanks!

^-- you also need to upload and execute the install.php file that's included in the mod package.

otronic

I'm sorry, do you mean I need to unzip the mod package, and upload and replace the current install.php file?

(Apologies, I've not done a manual install install before). - I just want to get it right before I break an already working forum.

Shambles

If you've already made the custom file edits, then yes you need to do what the install.php file would do if executed via the package manager (as it contains the database table creation commands, which is what you're missing).

But it has to be executed, not simply uploaded.

otronic

I'm really sorry for being a prat, but how do I execute the file once I upload it?

Also, whats the location of install.php, I'm unable to find the current file on the server.

Thank you!

Shambles

Upload the file to (for example) your forum root, then point your browser at it

http://yourdomain.com/forum/install.php

Remember to delete the file once you've done that.

otronic

Great!  Thank you so much.

I assume this is safe to do a live forum?

OK, I just added the install.php file to the directory, then when using my browser I navigate to site /forum/install.php I get the following message:

Database Error

No database selected
File: /home/xlhforum/public_html/forum/install.php
Line: 16

:'(

Shambles

Try uploading the install.php file to the directory/folder that contains SSI.php, then run it from there.

If it's already there, or still doesn't execute, then I'd go straight to your phpmyadmin (via cPanel) and just add the required column manually.

otronic

That's the current location I'm afraid.

That'd be my next move...
