need help with SimpleMachines.org forum (this one, not the one on my server!)

Hello, I need help with this forum (the one you are reading my message in, not the one I installed myself, so this is not your regular support request)... I hope I posted in the right part of the forum.

Basically a strange thing has been happening to me for a while (a few weeks).

I don't get notifications of new topics and in particular I am automatically unsubscribed from topics I previously subscribed to.

If I start a new topic  and I have notifications on, within a days time I stop being notified and when I go look at my notifications my thread isn't there anymore...

Same happens if I find a topic I am interested to which I reply or which I just read. To make sure I am subscribed like I want to be I click on the notify button and it askes me "are you sure you wish to ENABLE notifications?", I click yes, I even go check in my profile and I see it there under the subscribed threads...

I get maybe one, or not even that, email notification and then I am automatically unsubscribed...

Can anybody help me? It's been happening a lot and I can't seem to define a pattern of occurrances that causes it, it just happnes, every day...

It will only send an e-mail for the first reply... to avoid sending millions of emails to you. It will send you notifications again after you reply again..

I think that is how it is any ways I have never used the notify feature for SMF.

I know it only replies on the first reply, but the thing is I sometimes don't even get that and regardless of whether I do or not I get unsubscribed after a day...

wierd, i don't use notification though, it would flood my inbox, or close, i get annoyed at the email everytime i get a pm, until i figured out how to turn that off, lol, and i didn't get many pm's then or even now, for unread replies to your posts you can goto http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=unreadreplies and for unread posts since the last time you were on the forum you can goto http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=unread both of these are links below the welcome message in the defualt theme which is what i use and is how i found out about them.

I am aware of those functions but I'd like to get the emails... the problem I am experiencing just happened for this post again... I simply got unsubscribed from it without doing anything and had to come look for it and subscribe to it manually again... annnoying!

How have you set this checkbox in your profile: "Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply."

Is it checked? If so then try if it helps to uncheck it.
