______Question about Admin's "hidden" status?________

My posters are able to look down at the bottom of our SMF 1.1.8 Default board and see who's online.  As the Admin, I am always "hidden" and, since I am the only moderator,  it might as well say my name.  "Hidden" just tells them that I'm online and watching.  I'd rather they didn't always know that.  Is there any way to not have "Hidden" show up on the bottom of the forum, without taking away their ability to see the other posters who are logged on?

Nope, that's not a core feature, and I do not believe there is any particular code for that, otherwise, another support specialist could find something for you.

Now, the ability to hide is not just a moderator/admin thing, you can easily allow everyone to do it, then you would have no problem with your users knowing straight away who is hidden.

In features and options -> Allow non-administrators to hide their online status?

Of course, there probably is a pretty easy way to remove the (1 hidden) part from showing all together, would just mean editing the theme files, but I just can't look in to it at the moment... Sorry.

You could give the "Graphics and Templates" board.

In BoardIndex.template.php, find and remove:

And change:

Code Select Expand

if (!empty($context['num_users_hidden']) || ($context['show_buddies'] && !empty($context['show_buddies'])))


to

Code Select Expand

if ($context['show_buddies'] && !empty($context['show_buddies']))


To prevent the brackets from showing up for the other users.
