The outbox always shows in the details my own profile as user profile instead of the recievers user profile. In addition if I want to send an additional message to the reciever and hit "reply" there the new message is directed to myself not to the reciever.

In addition , if you "quote" an own outbox message in order to send an additional part to the reciever the author name is exchanged, namely it assumes the quote author to be the message reciever name (instead of me who is the author of the outbox entries). How I would find it more intuitively:
  • default reciever of new pm's = original reciever (when "reply" or "quote" is clicked in outbox entries)
  • default author = me (also referrs to pm's created in outbox, of course to do not exchange or insert author names in already existing quote tags inside the outbox msg)
  • show recievers member profile (not my own member profile) in the outbox details

Personally, I prefer the old way too... but Compuart made a huge deal out of "fixing" this... so... err, whatever.

QuoteIn addition if I want to send an additional message to the reciever and hit "reply" there the new message is directed to myself not to the reciever.
I suppose this could be changed, but it's hardly a bug exactly...

I would do it this way too... it used to....

Hmmm... a misspelled bbcode tag... interesting... ;)

I think that second thing should be changed as well. It should assume you want to reply to the person who sent the message, not to yourself. After all... why would you want to send a message to yourself?

Indeed it happened to me twice to send PM's by mistake to myself. Both times I was in a hurry and had sent the pm with only half of the message. Then I wanted to add the missing part, so went into pm outbox and clicked the "reply" button there...

I'm with Andrea on this.
If it's in the outbox it helps to send additionals or quotes to the recipient/new recipient not to myself.
The outbox list of messages should surely show the recipient and not the sender. What's the point in seeing a long list of messages with my own profile alongside it ?

If a user deletes his profile, all IM's from this user have my name as the one who sent it instead the name of the deleted user. Why did Compuart change the thing Andrea mentioned ? That makes no sense.

I've moved this to the Feature Requests for further discussion... it's not really a bug.

However, I think it should be changed from what it currently does - which is just say "Sent to: PERSON" and show your profile. (it always does this.)
