1.1 -----> 1.1.10 upgrade. Some precedure questions

Hi I will be upgrading my forum from 1.1 to 1.1.10. I have search and read some upgrade process but I am still not sure what would be the best way to do it.

I know first I need to do a backup before anything and have used mysqldumper for that. Now my question is

Should I do a fresh installation of 1.1.10 and restore the database or should I just do an upgrade using the upgrade zip file? Which one is better?

If I do the fresh installation of 1.1.10, do I restore the database first before installing any mods?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You should be using the upgrade package, because there were changes in the database structure, that the upgrade script can make to your database, so it will be upgraded too.

Please download the "large upgrade package" from the downloads link here, unzip it on your computer and upload everything over your files, on FTP.
Then, run upgrade.php, to convert your database properly.
