PM inbox count is wrong

I just notice that when I go in my PM center, after text "Inbox" is number like "(x)". I think that should show how many post I have in inbox, but it's not correct.

I've seen this on other SMF forums as well. IIRC it usually happened to me when I deleted a large sum of PM's... and then I ususally got a negative amount of PM's.

Sorry  again, I don't understand what do you mean.

I was using 1.0.4, then upgraded to 1.1 Beta 3 Public. All things were ok. But, until now, there is an error on PM Inbox Count.
E.g. on my account :
             
           Hey, Admin, you have 0 messages, 3 are new.

Anybody can help me to fix this problem, please?

upgrading doesn't help. Is this a known bug of the Beta Version?

Are there any workarounds?

Where ist the information how many new PM's are in the inbox stored? Do I need to go to the DB directly or is there another possibility?

what has helped me when this happened was to go in the Admin panel, forum maintenance, and then click "recount all forum totals and statistics"

try that?
