why not add a feature where you can enter the url the ip lookup will use in the admin center?

Nope, it wont work.

It's a good idea and it should be easy to do.

why wouldn't it work?  this feature has been used in the forum preference settings (to set such things as avatar directory) for a long time.

It wont be easy cause the SMF program wont know how to enter the IP's in the site URL.

More are of the form url?ip though.

Dont really think its that important though, how often do IP look up services break?

You would just need some type of variable.  For example, you could enter:  http://iplookup.site/lookup.php?ip=@  and SMF could replace the @ with the IP.

I don't see why you would need this really... If you use samspade.org, you'll be directed to the appropriate server anyway...
