sure this is simple -but want to make sure I get it right

when I make a new Board, I get these options
and I am guessing I do NOT check the "guest" box

Quote
Allowed Groups
Groups allowed to access this board.
Note: if the member is any group or post group checked, they will have access to this board.

Check all

but I also DID check the box that says
QuoteAllow guests to browse the forum
does this mean they can READ any post??
which is good for now - but what if I wanted guests NOT to be able to view certain sections of the Forum?

Guests can only make posts if enabled via permissions (Admin -> Membergroups -> Permissions)

Also, the option "Allow guests to browde forum" means that if unchecked, a guest will be prompted to login.

When setting board permissions, that only allows the guest to see that board, not post to it.

Actually they can post if you give that permission to the group "guest".  It is off by default though.

TheDragon

ahhhh, thanks
- never thought to look in to Permissions and see that Guest was a MEMBER_GROUP !
(always thought member_groups were MADE and/or were Moderators et)
