I have this copyright message at the bottom of my page along with the skin copyright...

Philly's Fun | Powered by SMF 1.0.3.
© 2001-2005, Lewis Media. All Rights Reserved.

Can I remove the Lewis Media part if I leave the SMF 1.0.3. part along with the simplemachines.org link? Or do I need both? Thanks!
I just want the board to look as clean as possible and Lewis Media just doesn't "fit"
It sounds like an ad agency or something...I dunno?? :P

Thantos

I would imagine the answer is no, as Lewis Media owns the copyright to SMF.

However you can email the Managers listed on "The Team" page http://www.simplemachines.org/about/team.php

Okay. Thanks for the reply! I will leave the license intact.

of course not why would  u   bother  taking   their copyright off...

i don't think it bothers  us....  if u want to take it off  maybe  if u pay for the full license  email them

sirknight

How about leaving the Copyright Lewis Media and removed powered by SMF? I think in this case we do not violate licensed agreement because we will leave copyright notice intact?

Is this possible?

That IS part of the copyright statement.

why u wanna take it off?  does it bother u  or something?  it doesn't make  no sense .U  must leave their copyrights. If u their copright is bothering either u  leave it or  unistall the  smf  forum from your system. :D

Since this seems to be the thread to ask in :)

What about removing the line break?  So it'll appear as:

Powered by <version> © 2001-2005, Lewis Media. All Rights Reserved.
all nice and pretty on one line

mennou

Mike it's still   not nice 4 someone to remove  that... they should leave it the way  it  is...lol :-X :-\

Thantos

I agree with leaving the information in.  However there should be some latitude (however small) with making it "fit" into the design.

I'm sure it's been said before that removing the line break is ok, but I'm not 100% on that.

Cool.  Maybe this should be made a topic we can use the magically [ [topic: ] ] on :)

[Unknown]

You can use that on all topics.

What if we make the font like 2pt?  :D

I'm just joking around so no one needs to get their panties in a wad. ;)

[Unknown]

The font size should be at least 8pt in a readable font, such as Verdana.

How did I know someone would respond to that very quickly? :D

;)

What I meant [Unknown] is having a policy thread that lays it out specifically not a Q&A thread.  So that you can go: [ [topic: Copyright Policy]]
