I went to install this mod but got a message it wasn't suitable. Fair enough but there isn't any Uninstall option. It's not in my list of mods but is installed according to the Packages page. Can I simply delete it?

If by "It is installed according to the package page" you mean it is listed on the package page? If so, then yes, you may simply delete the package.
